We as women often put off taking care of our own health because of our busy schedules. Hopefully this serves as a reminder that we have to be proactive about our health and find the time to take care of ourselves!

J.J. Gilbertson had always been pretty healthy. Only her grandmother had been inflicted with breast cancer, so just to be safe J.J. began having a mammogram every year. But in January 2010, after hearing that mammograms were only being encouraged by doctors every other year due to insurance issues, she cancelled her yearly exam.
Her husband, Rob, an energy technician at Southern California Gas, was dealing with his own issues with melanoma and encouraged her to keep having a yearly mammogram. She put it off.
